PechaKucha Night returns to Huddersfield for an evening of thinking and drinking – with a twist…

In this special edition, Dirt Cheap Magazine takeover Pecha Kucha Huddersfield to curate and present an eclectic night of presentations and live music from passionate local artists. A celebration of the hidden (and not so hidden) talents of Huddersfield.

PechaKucha Night #6 promises to be like no other. Advance booking is recommended.

For the night I have designed the promotional material including a poster, flyer and a special limited edition Dirt Cheap ‘Zine. Featuring a small collection of brilliant Dirt Cheap artists.

Flyer design

I cut and hand printed a lino print for the main artwork, and included all the essential information within the design. The design was made up on the spot without drafting a design, and the text all had to be done in reverse, so it was quite a challenge!

I wanted the images to be very direct and thought the eyes, ears and mouth summed up the whole idea of the night, an experience for all these senses. I wanted the piece to reflect my style and have a playful and DIY element to it, reflecting Dirt Cheap’s ethos.
